The Nežica waterfall is just one of the water sources for which the municipality of Kostel is known and named the “Land of Water.” Getting to the Nežica waterfall or its source is a short 25-minute walk through pristine, untouched nature.
The Nežica waterfall, along with the source of this stream, is accompanied by a legend recorded by J. Žagar. The legend tells the story of a girl named Nežica who used to water her ox here. Suddenly, the river surged, and the girl drowned. It is from this tragic event that the waterfall got its name.
