Strma reber

The newly opened Strma reber road is one of the steepest roads you’ll have the opportunity to visit. The road is located above the town of Osilnica and was built to improve the connection between Osilnica and the Kočevska River, providing a direct route to Ljubljana. This has reduced travel time to Ljubljana and Kočevje, while also enhancing safety in this part of Slovenia. The road itself is essentially a panoramic route that offers incredible views of the Kupa River valley, allowing you to appreciate the natural beauty of the area.

In addition to its panoramic qualities, the road is also recognized by professional cyclists and longboarders who regularly hold competitions on this route. Descending this road is a highly adrenaline-pumping experience, and each year, the World Championship in longboard downhill racing, known as “Bear Guts,” is held right here.
